Purchase and Development of 237 Highland St, 75 Marcella St, 255, 257 & 259 Highland St and 84, 86 & 88 Marcella Street

The City of Boston Mayor’s Office of Housing (MOH) sells city-owned properties to private buyers to encourage development in the City. One of the goals of MOH’s land disposition is to reduce the amount of unused, neglected property existing in the City, placing it back on the tax rolls and adding to the inventory of mixed-income housing.  MOH’s land disposition process helps alleviate the housing crisis by enabling MOH to offer buildable lots to home builders/developers to encourage construction of housing in Boston’s neighborhoods for a range of affordability levels.

This Request for Proposals (RFP) offers the public a chance to submit proposals for parcels of land owned by the City of Boston in the Dorchester neighborhood of Boston. The RFP seeks to secure development of the parcel for residential use.

This RFP is soliciting proposals for development of the parcels located at:

237 Highland Street (Ward 11/00558000), 75 Marcella Street (Ward 11/00559000), 255 Highland Street (Ward 11/00834000), 257 Highland Street (Ward 11/00835000), 259 Highland Street (Ward 11/00836000), 84 Marcella Street (Ward 11/00831000), 86 Marcella Street (Ward 11/00830000) and 88 Marcella St. (Ward 11/00829000). The total area of the parcels is approximately 15,900 square feet of land, and is intended for sale by the City and is being offered as is.

The RFP package will be available on May 2, 2022 and can be downloaded by registering at https://boston.gov/dnd/rfps.  If you are unable to access, please contact the Project Manager. Completed RFP responses must be submitted electronically by June 30, 2022, no later than 4:00 PM. Please go to https://boston.gov/dnd/rfps for detailed instructions on how to submit RFP responses.
