Available PositionsThese roles will support the Director of Procurement Planning and Support Services in the design and execution of an improved procurement program, and work with City departments to execute specific procurements. They will provide departments with guidance and best practices on all procurements and contract management. In addition to this direct advising, they will work to develop standard practices and procurement templates with a focus on simplifying the creation and evaluation of, and the response to all City procurements.
To support continuous improvement, the Procurement Department seeks a Data Analyst to join the Procurement Planning and Support Services team. Reporting to the Director, the Data Analyst will combine modern data analysis and visualizations with a deeply engaged approach to performance improvement and change management. The Data Analyst will work with Departments across the City to drive data-based initiatives that will directly contribute to operational and technical improvements. This includes developing and enhancing both current and new data collection tools, queries, and dashboards that enhance the Department’s ability to report on the City Procurement (contract data, spending data, vendor registration, etc.) and improve the Procurement process for internal users (buying plans, contract management, etc.).

The City of Boston is seeking a Community Grantmaking Coordinator to join the Procurement Department to support grantmaking to community-based organizations in Boston. This individual will report to the Manager of Community Grantmaking and assist City departments with the grant application and review processes, engage with community stakeholders, and help ensure that the City’s resources are effectively distributed to organizations making a difference in the community.
Reporting to the Director of Goods Procurement and Operations, the Procurement Department seeks a Training and Development Specialist. This position will assist with the development and delivery of training for City of Boston employees in topics that include procurement processes and systems (PeopleSoft Financials and other related Procurement systems).
The Specialist will also partner with the Finance Cabinet to integrate Procurement training sessions into broader Cabinet-wide efforts. Training delivery will encompass a variety of delivery methods including classroom training and online webinars. This position will also provide individual training assistance for users when necessary.

What are the salary and benefits for the jobs?The salary depends on the job. All of the full-time jobs come with benefits and selected applicants may be eligible to join a union. You can see the salary range and union affiliation when the positions are posted to the Career Center.
Are these on-going, full-time positions?Unless noted, these are on-going, full-time positions with benefits. There is a six-month probationary period for all new hires at the City of Boston.
