Recovery Month

National Recovery Month is a national observance held every September to educate Americans that substance use treatment and mental health services work and promote healthy and rewarding lifestyles.

The 2021 National Recovery Month theme, “Recovery is for Everyone,” reminds people no one is alone in their journey. While every journey may look different, we are all in this together. Recovery Month gives us time to reflect and be intentional with our actions. We seek to educate others about substance use disorders and co-occurring disorders, the effectiveness of treatment and recovery services, and that recovery is possible. The Office of Recovery Services believes that strength, support, and hope, promotes resiliency. The City of Boston is here to assist you.

Please join us and our community partners as we celebrate recovery, and deepen our understanding of substance use disorder. To participate in any of the events, please check out our Recovery Month calendar below.
