Morgan McDaniel

Deputy Chief for Capital Investments

As Deputy Chief of Operations for Capital Investments, Morgan works closely with the Chief of Operations and other senior officials to execute the Mayor’s vision and priorities for municipal buildings. They are responsible for assisting departments with achieving citywide goals with their capital projects and planning initiatives, in line with the Mayor’s Green New Deal & Just Recovery agenda.

Previously, Morgan served as a Senior Real Estate Development Officer at the Boston Planning and Development Agency, where they took the lead on the disposition of public land to support the City’s policy goals for affordable housing and economic development. They spearheaded the BPDA’s diversity and inclusion efforts in real estate RFPs, and drove forward the development of multiple large lots in Nubian Square which previously sat vacant for decades. Prior to their time at the BPDA, they served as a senior analyst in the City’s Office of Budget Management, where they supervised operating and capital budget development for schools, innovation and technology, and the City’s health benefits.

Morgan holds a Master in Public Policy from the Harvard Kennedy School and a Bachelor from Georgetown University School of Foreign Service. They are a committed volunteer with the Boston Area Rape Crisis Center. Their favorite places to spend an afternoon are the Isabella Stewart Gardner Museum, or a sunny spot on the Esplanade.
