Install or Replace a Gas Line
If your home or building needs a gas line installed or replaced, you’ll need to hire a contractor who can apply for a Gas Permit and perform the work.
Who can install or replace gas lines?
- Homeowners and contractors can apply for the Short-form Permit.
- Only a contractor with a valid, non-expired Massachusetts trade license may apply for a Gas Permit and perform any work related to installing or replacing gas lines or pipes.

- For opening up any non-structural walls while performing the work.
