Install or Replace Pipes or Plumbing Fixtures
If you’re replacing or installing plumbing pipes or fixtures you’ll need to hire a contractor who can apply for a Plumbing Permit and perform the work.

Who can install or replace?

Homeowners and contractors can apply for the Short-form Permit.
- Only a contractor with a valid, non-expired Massachusetts trade license may apply for a Plumbing Permit and perform any plumbing work related to installing or replacing plumbing pipes and fixtures.

- Only if you need to open up any non-structural walls while performing the work.
